There are often women who love to make gossip, spreading baseless rumors, of course men too.
But below story tells about a woman named Hitomi. She lived by spreading groundless stories and scandals about good people in the town. Everyone in the town hated her but did not show directly to her.
One day a holy yogi came to the town. So the villagers narrated about hitomi to him. The yogi called for her. She approached and asked ‘swamy what can I do for you.’ The yogi handed her a basket filled with bird’s feathers and asked her to scatter the feathers while you go home and come and meet me tomorrow.
The next day she approached yogi. He now asked hitomi to brink back the feathers from the path where you scattered. Hitomi did not know what to do. She pleaded, “How can I gather the feathers the winds have blown them away”.
The yogi replied this is what you had been doing these days with gossip and rumors. The words you utter are like the feathers you scatter. You can take back neither the words nor the feathers.
